Californian Bungalow, Thornbury

Our exterior painters were hard it again transforming this 1920’s Californian Bungalow in Thornbury. One of our supervisors, Wayne and his team, had smiles all round from these happy customers. We started out with usual prep regime, nominating timber rot for our Carpenters, then onto the sanding. We had all of our machines onsite for this project, using our Festool orbital sander, belt sanders and power sanders. We came across some flaking and blistering substrates which called for our painters to bring out their heat guns and burn back areas to the original timber. Removing the paint that is blistering allows us to start a new system of paint. We are now using a new undercoat from Dulux called Precision Undercoat as this have proven to be a superior product that is adhering to every surfaces and making for a fantastic first coat. After the Carpenters had finished their timber rot repair and we had finished our painting preparation it was onto bringing the house to life with the new colour scheme. With different tones of grey, we were able to highlight the fantastic features of this beautiful 1920’s home and make this home stand out in the street. With the weather turning for the worst our exterior painters will be interior painters this week, starting a large interior repaint in Ivanhoe.
